Saving on some groceries

I had told someone about what Kmart is running on sale this week here.  Since I went there yesterday partly for the 2nd kitchen around here it works.  I was figuring with 5 kids in the household that 10 for 10 deals are pretty good to say the least.  Plus coffee is on sale this week so yes I picked up more for the household around here.  There are ways to save for several bills around the household and the grocery bill seems like the budget that gets cut first around the place with most folks around.  I do not get the pre packed mixes hardly at all for my household.  Things like cake, pancake, and muffin mixes do not come into the household since I have all the stuff here for the make from scratch on that part of it all.  This is what some folks never understood about myself and the household at all.  When I started streaching out the groceries for the household here I was flat broke and could not afford alot of the meats that were needed for the household at all.  So I started cutting the burger in half to start with.  The powdered milk came later on as I began to realize that we were not going thru alot of regular milk at all for the trailer.  That is when I started cooking alot with the powdered milk for meals.  Some people started getting adjatated with me on that when they would come over for dinner.  Well after all said and done the one couple have totally stopped coming over since they figured I was cutting down on the grocery bill and a few others at the time that they could barrow money and smokes off of us also.  I put my foot down about that and got told that my attatude was getting nasty also.  So I shrugged it off and said oh well.  After that I have became alot more calm in what I am doing for the place here and reworked the grocery budget also.  Alot of things come from Aldi, Kmart, Walmart, and a few other places at this point in time.  Who live here in the household do not seem to mind it at all.  I am looking at alot of things as of once the 20th comes I will go do the major shopping for the household here and be done with it.  I will always keep flour, rice, pasta, butter/margerine, onions, potatoes, baking powder, yeast, powdered milk, some cheese, and eggs here in the household.  This is what I was trying to teach my Niece for the kitchen and it was like pulling wisdome teeth all over again out of my head the girl could not get it thru her head that this is what I have to do.  Alot of the prices are going up yet again for things and I have got some things before the price went to totally crazy on the items here for the household.  Now to get the burger rolls before the prices go up on them again.  This is what some do not understand about how the supermarkets come up with prices.  Alot of it has to do from the plant that makes the product, shipping costs, gas prices, and weather there is enough stock from the farms also.  The price of desile goes up and the drivers pay goes up then the price is passed on to the rest of us around.  With that being said the complainers that use to come over never got that part of economics at all.  Even when you try to explain it all to them they still do not get that part.  When I can sit here and have a list of things for the grocery store and a few other places around here for the monthly shopping and I refuse to write down the name brand things that are needed for the household then get asked of why I do not write down the brand I look at the person and shake my head.  Since I price compair all of the time and see what is on sale at some stores around then what ever is cheaper and more bang for the buck in the household then that is what I get for the household that month.  Just like when I get things for the 10 things for 10 dollars for the household here.  Some folks will holler about it because I have found a better deal than they did.  I just shake it off and go with it all.
